| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Samuel Medrano, Jr., was named the |

| 6 | 6 | | Outstanding Jurist at the Law Day Dinner and Awards Presentation |

| 7 | 7 | | hosted by the El Paso Bar Association on May 9, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Judge Medrano presides over the 409th District Court |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in his native El Paso County, and he hears both criminal and civil |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | cases; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The Law Day Dinner provides an opportunity for |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | members of the El Paso Bar Association to honor lawyers and others |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | for their professional achievements, service to the legal |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | profession, and contributions to their community, and Judge Medrano |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | is a most deserving recipient of this impressive accolade; and |

| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through his dedicated efforts, Judge Medrano has |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | garnered the respect and admiration of his colleagues, and he may |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | take justifiable pride in his notable accomplishments; now, |

| 19 | 19 | | therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Judge Samuel Medrano, Jr., on being |

| 22 | 22 | | named the 2009 Outstanding Jurist by the El Paso Bar Association and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and |
