| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Daniel Salinas of Alice has rendered |

| 6 | 6 | | valiant service to this state and nation as a member of the United |

| 7 | 7 | | States Marine Corps; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Salinas deployed to Iraq in October |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 2008 and returned home on April 14, 2009; notwithstanding the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | hardships he faced in a war zone, he performed his challenging and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | dangerous work as a machine gunman with dedication and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | professionalism; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Lance Corporal Salinas has |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | received the loving support of his parents, Juan and Yvette Davila, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | his brother, Juan Gabriel Davila, Jr., his grandparents, Mr. and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Mrs. Jimmy Pineda and Mr. and Mrs. Ernesto Davila, and his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | great-grandmother, Consuelo Buentello; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Through his dedication to duty, honor, and this |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | country, Daniel Salinas embodies the highest ideals of the United |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | States armed forces, and he is deserving of his fellow citizens' |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | utmost respect and appreciation; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby honor Lance Corporal Daniel Salinas for his |

| 24 | 24 | | steadfast service in Iraq and extend to him sincere best wishes for |

| 25 | 25 | | the future; and, be it further |
