| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to |

| 6 | 6 | | honor John Hefley for his outstanding work as an intern in the |

| 7 | 7 | | office of State Representative Vicki Truitt; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hefley helped to prepare Representative Truitt |

| 9 | 9 | | for the floor each day, drafted bill analyses, and prepared |

| 10 | 10 | | casework; he supported the representative's work on the Public |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Health Committee, and he took on many other tasks as the need arose; |

| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The son of Richard and Kathy Hefley and the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | snazziest good ol' boy in the history of the office, this |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | knowledgeable and outgoing young Texan is also a walking Wikipedia |

| 16 | 16 | | of random information; once you wind Mr. Hefley up and let him go on |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | a subject he's passionate about--for example, the little-known fact |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | that his hometown of Shamrock is the most tornado-prone spot in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Texas--you can go away, have a cup of coffee, and come back, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | he'll just be getting around to the extremely interesting fact that |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | between 1950 and 2004, 67 funnels touched down or passed within 20 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | miles of this area of Wheeler County; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Through this mastery of facts, as well as his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | energy, talent, and hard work, John Hefley has made important |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | contributions to the legislative process and to the constituents of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | House District 98 during the current session, and Representative |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Truitt is personally grateful for his dedication, professionalism, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | teamwork, and valuable assistance; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby commend John Hefley for his service as an intern |
