H.R. No. 3087 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to honor John Hefley for his outstanding work as an intern in the office of State Representative Vicki Truitt; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hefley helped to prepare Representative Truitt for the floor each day, drafted bill analyses, and prepared casework; he supported the representative's work on the Public Health Committee, and he took on many other tasks as the need arose; and WHEREAS, The son of Richard and Kathy Hefley and the snazziest good ol' boy in the history of the office, this knowledgeable and outgoing young Texan is also a walking Wikipedia of random information; once you wind Mr. Hefley up and let him go on a subject he's passionate about--for example, the little-known fact that his hometown of Shamrock is the most tornado-prone spot in Texas--you can go away, have a cup of coffee, and come back, and he'll just be getting around to the extremely interesting fact that between 1950 and 2004, 67 funnels touched down or passed within 20 miles of this area of Wheeler County; and WHEREAS, Through this mastery of facts, as well as his energy, talent, and hard work, John Hefley has made important contributions to the legislative process and to the constituents of House District 98 during the current session, and Representative Truitt is personally grateful for his dedication, professionalism, teamwork, and valuable assistance; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend John Hefley for his service as an intern in the office of State Representative Vicki Truitt and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hefley as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
