| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Citizens of Socorro lost two beloved residents with |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the passing of Robert Rojas on September 3, 2007, and his wife, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Francisca Rojas, on November 14, 2008; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rojas shared 55 years together; they |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | were the parents of five children, Gustavo, Osvaldo, Norma, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Frances, and the late Alonso Rojas, and their family grew to include |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 11 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Born in Clint on October 4, 1929, Mrs. Rojas was a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | lifelong resident of Socorro, where she was active in the parish at |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church; Mr. Rojas was retired from a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | notable 29-year career with the Bureau of Reclamation, Department |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of the Interior; dedicated to making his community a better place, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | he had been a member of the board of Socorro ISD for many years; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rojas set an outstanding example of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | citizenship and family devotion throughout their time on this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | earth, and though they are deeply missed, they will always be |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | remembered with love and admiration; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the lives of Robert and Francisca |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Rojas and extend sincere sympathy to the members of their family: to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | their sons, Gustavo and his wife, Anna, and Osvaldo and his wife, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Cruz; to their daughters, Norma Murphy and her husband, John, and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Frances M. Rojas; to their grandchildren and great-granddaughter; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and to their other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 30 | 30 | | prepared for their family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert and |
