H.R. No. 3100
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dennis Stewart concluded his term on the Richardson
City Council in May 2009, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize
him for his outstanding contributions to his community; and
WHEREAS, Elected to represent Place 7 in 2007, Mr. Stewart
joined the council after retiring as a lieutenant in the Richardson
Police Department, where he had served for 25 years; and
WHEREAS, He is a member of the Richardson Central Rotary
Club, the Richardson Masonic Lodge, and the Breckinridge Park
Estates Homeowners Association and is past president of the
Richardson Citizen Fire Academy Alumni Association; he regularly
shows his support for the U.S. military by greeting troops at
Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport; and
WHEREAS, Dennis Stewart is a notable public servant, and his
achievements have helped to make Richardson an even better place in
which to live and work; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor Dennis Stewart on the occasion of his
retirement as a member of the Richardson City Council and extend to
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Stewart as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
