| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Plano greatly benefited from the |

| 6 | 6 | | dedicated leadership of Scott Johnson during his eight years on the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | city council; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Elected to represent Place 2 in 2001, Mr. Johnson |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | held the position of mayor pro tem from February 2006 to May 2007 |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and deputy mayor pro tem from May 2005 to February 2006, and his |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | knowledge and expertise in a range of community issues have earned |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | him widespread respect; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure, Mr. Johnson was |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | involved with nearly every aspect of municipal government, from |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | transportation, housing, and utilities to parks and recreation and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | senior citizens' issues, and he has contributed to numerous |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | committees and organizations, including the North Central Texas |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Industrial Development Authority, the Collin County Community |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | College Board, the Tax Abatement Council Committee, and the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Multi-Cultural Outreach Roundtable; he has also been a liaison to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | such entities as the Library Advisory Board, the Technology |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Commission, the Building Standards Commission, and the Animal |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Shelter Advisory Committee; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Scott Johnson has rendered outstanding public |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | service as a city councilman, and his achievements have helped to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | make Plano an even better place in which to live, work, and raise a |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | family; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend Scott Johnson for his service as a |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | member of the Plano City Council and extend to him sincere best |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
