 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Residents of Plano greatly benefited from the
 dedicated leadership of Scott Johnson during his eight years on the
 city council; and
 WHEREAS, Elected to represent Place 2 in 2001, Mr. Johnson
 held the position of mayor pro tem from February 2006 to May 2007
 and deputy mayor pro tem from May 2005 to February 2006, and his
 knowledge and expertise in a range of community issues have earned
 him widespread respect; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure, Mr. Johnson was
 involved with nearly every aspect of municipal government, from
 transportation, housing, and utilities to parks and recreation and
 senior citizens' issues, and he has contributed to numerous
 committees and organizations, including the North Central Texas
 Industrial Development Authority, the Collin County Community
 College Board, the Tax Abatement Council Committee, and the
 Multi-Cultural Outreach Roundtable; he has also been a liaison to
 such entities as the Library Advisory Board, the Technology
 Commission, the Building Standards Commission, and the Animal
 Shelter Advisory Committee; and
 WHEREAS, Scott Johnson has rendered outstanding public
 service as a city councilman, and his achievements have helped to
 make Plano an even better place in which to live, work, and raise a
 family; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Scott Johnson for his service as a
 member of the Plano City Council and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
