| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Keegan Schmitt has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, |

| 6 | 6 | | and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | criteria, Mr. Schmitt earned a total of 31 merit badges and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | community, which consisted of organizing the painting of curb stops |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | at the Pasadena Convention Center to enhance pedestrian safety at |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the facility; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The son of Rachell Wiedmeyer and Michel Schmitt, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | this fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | ability throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | that scouting offers; he is a senior at Dobie High School and a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | member of the National Honor Society, and he plans to continue his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | education with computer engineering studies at the Rochester |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Institute of Technology in New York; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Schmitt's dedication to excellence and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Keegan Schmitt on achieving the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |

| 30 | 30 | | continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
