| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to |

| 6 | 6 | | honor Kathleen Rose Garrett for her outstanding work as district |

| 7 | 7 | | director in the office of State Representative Will Hartnett; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Garrett, who joined Representative Hartnett's |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | staff as an administrative assistant in 2003, consistently |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | demonstrates a high level of dedication and enthusiasm, and she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | devotes great care to every task, from studying issues to ensuring |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the proper operation of the office; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, She graduated from Bishop Lynch Catholic High School |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in Dallas and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in political |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | science from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, in 2002; she |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | earned a master's degree in public administration with a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | concentration in local government management in 2005 and is |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | currently pursuing a doctorate at the University of Dallas; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, An industrious and compassionate Texan, Ms. Garrett |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | has served on the boards of the Dallas County Council of Republican |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Women, the Preston West Republican Women, the Greater Dallas |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Pachyderm Club, and the Metrocrest Family Medical Clinic; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Kathleen Garrett is a skillful and highly regarded |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | advocate for the constituents in House District 114, and it is most |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | fitting to acknowledge her for a job well done; now, therefore, be |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Kathleen Garrett for her service as |
