| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mariachi Oro of Edinburg North High School has |

| 7 | 7 | | their school, their families, and all of their supporters in the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Edinburg community; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception, Mariachi Oro has helped many |

| 10 | 10 | | young Texans to further develop their self-esteem, musical talent, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and knowledge of this distinctive aspect of Mexican culture; under |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the leadership of Joseph Torres and former member Vanessa |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Alejandro, the band has been invited to Austin to perform at the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Members of the 2008-2009 group include Beatrix |

| 16 | 16 | | Balough, Michael Camacho, Gianna DeLeon, Conrad Garza, Robert |

| 17 | 17 | | Garza, Vanessa Garza, Hugo Hernandez, Marco Lumbreras, Stefanie |

| 18 | 18 | | Saenz, Jabel Tobias, Miguel Valdez, Crystal Garza, Josue Lopez, |

| 19 | 19 | | Adam Martinez, Adina Ramirez, Miguel Ramirez, Christian Rangel, and |

| 25 | 25 | | College Mariachi Festival, Edcouch-Elsa Mariachi Contest, La Joya |

| 26 | 26 | | Mariachi Contest, FESTIBA at UTPA, and McAllen ISD Mariachi |

| 27 | 27 | | Spectacular; individually, 10 members have been selected for the |

| 28 | 28 | | Texas Music Educators Association Region XV All-Mariachi Group, |

| 29 | 29 | | which represents all school districts from Alamo to Roma; and |

| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, State Representative Aaron Pena has justly |

| 31 | 31 | | recognized Mariachi Oro by authoring this resolution in its behalf |

| 32 | 32 | | during the Regular Session of the 81st Texas Legislature; now, |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 35 | 35 | | Legislature hereby honor Mariachi Oro of Edinburg North High School |
