| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Fire Marshal Kurt Harris is retiring from the |

| 6 | 6 | | Weatherford Fire Department in 2009, drawing to a close an |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | outstanding career in public service that has lasted more than |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | three decades; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Harris has worked for the City of Weatherford |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | for 32 years, and for the past 20, he has been fire marshal; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, In that important position, Fire Marshal Harris has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | distinguished himself in such vital areas of endeavor as fire |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | investigation, education of the public in fire safety, plan review, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and enforcement of the fire code; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, With the love and support of his wife, Patty, Mr. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Harris has dedicated his career to ensuring the safety and welfare |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of his community, and he may take great pride in his achievements as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | he embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |

| 19 | 19 | | therefore, be it |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Kurt Harris on his retirement from |

| 22 | 22 | | the Weatherford Fire Department and extend to him sincere best |

| 23 | 23 | | wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
