R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Fire Marshal Kurt Harris is retiring from the
Weatherford Fire Department in 2009, drawing to a close an
outstanding career in public service that has lasted more than
three decades; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Harris has worked for the City of Weatherford
for 32 years, and for the past 20, he has been fire marshal; and
WHEREAS, In that important position, Fire Marshal Harris has
distinguished himself in such vital areas of endeavor as fire
investigation, education of the public in fire safety, plan review,
and enforcement of the fire code; and
WHEREAS, With the love and support of his wife, Patty, Mr.
Harris has dedicated his career to ensuring the safety and welfare
of his community, and he may take great pride in his achievements as
he embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Kurt Harris on his retirement from
the Weatherford Fire Department and extend to him sincere best
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Harris as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
