| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Manuel M. Carrillo retired from his position as a |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | custodian with Sul Ross State University (SRSU) on January 31, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2009, bringing to a close more than a quarter-century of service to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the school; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Alpine, Mr. Carrillo served three years |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in the U.S. Army and later worked with the Southern Pacific |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Railroad; he went on to join the staff of Big Bend Memorial |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Hospital, and after more than a decade with that facility, he began |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | his employment with Sul Ross in May 1982; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Over the ensuing 26 years, Mr. Carrillo worked at |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | several university sites, including the swimming pool, Lawrence |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Hall, the University Center, Mountainside Residence Hall, the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Industrial Technology Building, and Fletcher Hall; since 2006, he |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | has served in Lobo Village Residential Complex; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Carrillo earned a reputation for his work ethic |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and his cheerful personality; he also remained accident free |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | throughout his employment with the university, and that record |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | earned him a safety award from the institution; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Carrillo has been |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | blessed with the love and support of his wife, Jessie, and their |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | children, Sylvia, James, Michael, and Manuel Carrillo, Jr.; he |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | looks forward to spending more time with his grandchildren and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | great-grandchildren in retirement; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Manuel Carrillo has demonstrated outstanding |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | dedication throughout his career at Sul Ross, and he may look back |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | with pride on his record of service; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Manuel M. Carrillo on his |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | retirement from Sul Ross State University and extend to him sincere |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
