| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Reverend Lisa Marshall of First United Methodist |

| 6 | 6 | | Church in Denton is serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House |

| 7 | 7 | | of Representatives on March 11, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Reverend Marshall began her pastoral work as a youth |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | director at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Trophy Club; in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 2002, she moved to Vista Ridge United Methodist Church in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Lewisville, initially holding the title of minister of discipleship |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and later serving as associate pastor; since 2006, she has been |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Denton; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This respected religious leader was commissioned on |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the elder track in June 2006, and she recently earned her master of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Methodist University; in addition to her ministerial duties, she is |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the proud mother of two sons, David and Drew; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Reverend Marshall has inspired |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | congregants with messages of faith and goodwill, and her presence |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | in this chamber is indeed an honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby express its sincere appreciation to the Reverend |

| 24 | 24 | | Lisa Marshall for her service as Pastor of the Day and extend to her |

| 25 | 25 | | warmest best wishes for continued success and fulfillment in her |
