44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The Reverend Lisa Marshall of First United Methodist
66 Church in Denton is serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House
77 of Representatives on March 11, 2009; and
88 WHEREAS, Reverend Marshall began her pastoral work as a youth
99 director at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Trophy Club; in
1010 2002, she moved to Vista Ridge United Methodist Church in
1111 Lewisville, initially holding the title of minister of discipleship
1212 and later serving as associate pastor; since 2006, she has been
1313 associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Denton; and
1414 WHEREAS, This respected religious leader was commissioned on
1515 the elder track in June 2006, and she recently earned her master of
1616 divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern
1717 Methodist University; in addition to her ministerial duties, she is
1818 the proud mother of two sons, David and Drew; and
1919 WHEREAS, Through the years, Reverend Marshall has inspired
2020 congregants with messages of faith and goodwill, and her presence
2121 in this chamber is indeed an honor; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2323 Legislature hereby express its sincere appreciation to the Reverend
2424 Lisa Marshall for her service as Pastor of the Day and extend to her
2525 warmest best wishes for continued success and fulfillment in her
2626 ministry; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Reverend Marshall as an expression of high regard by
2929 the Texas House of Representatives.
