H.R. No. 602 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Reverend Lisa Marshall of First United Methodist Church in Denton is serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of Representatives on March 11, 2009; and WHEREAS, Reverend Marshall began her pastoral work as a youth director at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Trophy Club; in 2002, she moved to Vista Ridge United Methodist Church in Lewisville, initially holding the title of minister of discipleship and later serving as associate pastor; since 2006, she has been associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Denton; and WHEREAS, This respected religious leader was commissioned on the elder track in June 2006, and she recently earned her master of divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University; in addition to her ministerial duties, she is the proud mother of two sons, David and Drew; and WHEREAS, Through the years, Reverend Marshall has inspired congregants with messages of faith and goodwill, and her presence in this chamber is indeed an honor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby express its sincere appreciation to the Reverend Lisa Marshall for her service as Pastor of the Day and extend to her warmest best wishes for continued success and fulfillment in her ministry; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Reverend Marshall as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
