 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Demonstrating great skill and dedication, the
 six-man football team from Greenville Christian School captured the
 2008 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division 1
 state six-man football championship on December 6, 2008; and
 WHEREAS, The Greenville Eagles took the title in a thrilling
 contest with the team from Heritage Christian Academy in Rockwall;
 the two teams stood even at 48-48 going into the fourth quarter at
 Moody ISD Stadium, but Greenville stayed tough on both sides of the
 ball to leave the field victorious by a 72-48 margin, clinching its
 second state title in as many years; and
 WHEREAS, The championship triumph capped a spectacular year
 for Greenville, in which the Eagles completed the first undefeated
 season in school history, winning 12 games and dispatching several
 opponents by seven touchdowns or more; several Eagles players
 received all-state honors for their exceptional play, including
 Brandon Fauley, Josh Rook, Tanner Barnes, Blake Caspari, Jake
 Schumann, Jordan Henderson, and Andrew Wombaker; and
 WHEREAS, Head coach Larry Uland and his assistants David
 Wombaker, Todd Barnes, Rene Aja, Kelly Garrett, Jim Johnson, and
 Dan Uland provided inspiration and guidance to the Greenville
 athletes throughout the season, encouraging them at every step to
 apply and improve their skills; moreover, Larry Uland's excellent
 record earned him the 2008 TAPPS Division 1 Coach of the Year honor;
 and
 WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
 culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
 commitment to excellence, and the Greenville Eagles football team
 will treasure the memory of this accomplishment for many years to
 come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Greenville Christian School
 Eagles on winning their second consecutive TAPPS Division 1 state
 six-man football championship and extend to the players, coaches,
 and staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
