| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dr. T. David Greer is lending his time and talents to |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | aid the Texas House of Representatives as Physician of the Day for |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | January 15, 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Henrietta, David Greer completed his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | studies at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | joined the United States Army following his graduation in 1964; he |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | completed an internship at Letterman General Hospital in San |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Francisco and became a flight surgeon in 1965; he was later |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | stationed in Germany and Vietnam, and for his dedicated military |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | service he earned numerous commendations, including a Bronze Star |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | with Oak Leaf Clusters, an Air Medal with eight Oak Leaf Clusters, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | an Army Commendation Medal, and a Purple Heart; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This accomplished Texan has operated a private |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | practice in Henrietta for nearly four decades and has become a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | respected and well-known figure in his hometown and in the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | surrounding area; holding specialty certification from the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | American Board of Family Medicine, he is also a member of the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the national and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | state medical associations; moreover, he is involved in the Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Academy of Family Physicians, and that organization named him its |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 2004 Physician of the Year; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Greer has built an admirable career by devoting |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | himself to the health and well-being of others, and it is a pleasure |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | to recognize him at this time and to gratefully welcome him to the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | State Capitol; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby honor Dr. T. David Greer for his participation |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | in the Physician of the Day program and commend him for his |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | professional achievements; and, be it further |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | prepared for Dr. Greer as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | House of Representatives. |
