 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dr. T. David Greer is lending his time and talents to
 aid the Texas House of Representatives as Physician of the Day for
 January 15, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Henrietta, David Greer completed his
 studies at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and
 joined the United States Army following his graduation in 1964; he
 completed an internship at Letterman General Hospital in San
 Francisco and became a flight surgeon in 1965; he was later
 stationed in Germany and Vietnam, and for his dedicated military
 service he earned numerous commendations, including a Bronze Star
 with Oak Leaf Clusters, an Air Medal with eight Oak Leaf Clusters,
 an Army Commendation Medal, and a Purple Heart; and
 WHEREAS, This accomplished Texan has operated a private
 practice in Henrietta for nearly four decades and has become a
 respected and well-known figure in his hometown and in the
 surrounding area; holding specialty certification from the
 American Board of Family Medicine, he is also a member of the
 American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the national and
 state medical associations; moreover, he is involved in the Texas
 Academy of Family Physicians, and that organization named him its
 2004 Physician of the Year; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Greer has built an admirable career by devoting
 himself to the health and well-being of others, and it is a pleasure
 to recognize him at this time and to gratefully welcome him to the
 State Capitol; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Dr. T. David Greer for his participation
 in the Physician of the Day program and commend him for his
 professional achievements; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Dr. Greer as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
