 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Rushan Gao of Houston has once again demonstrated
 remarkable athletic skill by earning three gold medals in table
 tennis at the 2008 Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah;
 and
 WHEREAS, One of the premier senior athletic events in the
 world, the Huntsman World Senior Games is an annual international,
 Olympic-style sporting event that attracts more than 9,500 athletes
 to compete in a wide variety of events; and
 WHEREAS, A dominant force among table tennis players ages 80
 and older, Mr. Gao has won gold medals in men's singles, men's
 doubles, and mixed doubles at every Huntsman event since 2005, a
 total of 12 first-place finishes in the last four years; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Gao has also enjoyed success in other
 competitions, including his victories in mixed doubles and men's
 singles play at the 2008 San Antonio Senior Games and in the mixed
 doubles category at the 2008 Kerrville Senior Games; in addition,
 he finished third in the over-80 singles division at the USA Table
 Tennis U.S. Open in 2004; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Gao's notable and ongoing achievements help to
 demonstrate the benefits of good health and physical fitness for
 people of all ages, and he serves as an inspiring example of how
 Texans can live vigorous and eventful lives deep into their golden
 years; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Rushan Gao on his many victories at
 the Huntsman World Senior Games and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued joy and success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Gao as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
