| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Mark Crosby of the Del Rio Police |

| 6 | 6 | | Department graduated from the FBI National Academy on December 12, |

| 7 | 7 | | 2008; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, One of the most prestigious law enforcement training |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | programs in the world, the FBI National Academy in Quantico, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Virginia, has been in operation since 1935, and its 235th session |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | included 256 civilian and military graduates from all 50 states and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | from 26 countries; Sergeant Crosby is one of only four active |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | members of the Del Rio Police Department to have completed the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | rigorous 10-week course; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, This dedicated peace officer concentrated on |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | leadership skills during his time at the academy, attending classes |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in ethics and supervision as well as behavioral science, computer |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | crimes, and statement analysis; moreover, Mr. Crosby was one of a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | select few students to earn a Yellow Brick, an award given to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | academy graduates who successfully complete a series of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | increasingly difficult physical fitness challenges; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The well-being of Texas citizens depends in large |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | part on the expertise and readiness of our law enforcement agents, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and the knowledge that Mark Crosby has gained in his studies at the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | FBI National Academy will be of great benefit to the Del Rio Police |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Department in its mission of serving and protecting area Texans; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Sergeant Mark Crosby on graduating |

| 30 | 30 | | from the FBI National Academy and extend to him sincere best wishes |
