H.R. No. 713 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Sergeant Mark Crosby of the Del Rio Police Department graduated from the FBI National Academy on December 12, 2008; and WHEREAS, One of the most prestigious law enforcement training programs in the world, the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, has been in operation since 1935, and its 235th session included 256 civilian and military graduates from all 50 states and from 26 countries; Sergeant Crosby is one of only four active members of the Del Rio Police Department to have completed the rigorous 10-week course; and WHEREAS, This dedicated peace officer concentrated on leadership skills during his time at the academy, attending classes in ethics and supervision as well as behavioral science, computer crimes, and statement analysis; moreover, Mr. Crosby was one of a select few students to earn a Yellow Brick, an award given to academy graduates who successfully complete a series of increasingly difficult physical fitness challenges; and WHEREAS, The well-being of Texas citizens depends in large part on the expertise and readiness of our law enforcement agents, and the knowledge that Mark Crosby has gained in his studies at the FBI National Academy will be of great benefit to the Del Rio Police Department in its mission of serving and protecting area Texans; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Sergeant Mark Crosby on graduating from the FBI National Academy and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Sergeant Crosby as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
