55 WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
66 meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort those who knew Dorothy
77 Marie Bertha Domaschk Albin of Houston, who passed away on January
88 13, 2009, at the age of 84; and
99 WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mrs. Albin was born
1010 in Houston on January 26, 1924; she earned a scholarship to business
1111 college, where she met the man with whom she would share her life,
1212 Mirl Albin; the couple were married in 1944, and their family grew
1313 to include four children, Carol, Jerrie, L. D., and the late M. J.
1414 Albin, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mrs. Albin worked side by side with her husband at
1616 their successful accounting business for half a century; in her
1717 free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and
1818 great-grandchildren, cross-country skiing, and biking; she also
1919 loved nature, and she visited Cat Spring and the Texas Hill Country
2020 as often as possible; and
2121 WHEREAS, Devoted to her faith, Mrs. Albin was a charter
2222 member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a longtime volunteer with the
2323 Lutheran Braille Workers center at Concordia Lutheran Church; and
2424 WHEREAS, A true friend to many, a devoted companion to her
2525 husband, and a cherished mother and grandmother, Dorothy Albin will
2626 be deeply missed, but she will forever be remembered with love; now,
2727 therefore, be it
2828 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2929 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dorothy Marie Bertha
3030 Domaschk Albin and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her
3131 family: to her husband, Mirl J. Albin; to her sister, Puddin, and
3232 her husband, Wesley Krueger; to her children and their spouses,
3333 Carol and Alan Walker, Jerrie and Gary Stobb, and L. D. and Betsy
3434 Albin; to her grandchildren and their spouses, Shari and Brian
3535 Conner, Kari and Frank Coffey, David and Ginny Stobb, Kristina and
3636 Zakk Vannoy, and Bryce and Jessica Stobb; to her
3737 great-grandchildren, Devin and Chad Coffey, Amelia and Miles
3838 Conner, Abby and Emma Vannoy, and Bowen and A. J. Stobb; and to her
3939 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4242 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy
4343 Marie Bertha Domaschk Albin.
