5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |

6 | 6 | | meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort those who knew Dorothy |

7 | 7 | | Marie Bertha Domaschk Albin of Houston, who passed away on January |
---|
8 | 8 | | 13, 2009, at the age of 84; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mrs. Albin was born |
---|
10 | 10 | | in Houston on January 26, 1924; she earned a scholarship to business |
---|
11 | 11 | | college, where she met the man with whom she would share her life, |
---|
12 | 12 | | Mirl Albin; the couple were married in 1944, and their family grew |
---|
13 | 13 | | to include four children, Carol, Jerrie, L. D., and the late M. J. |
---|
14 | 14 | | Albin, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Albin worked side by side with her husband at |
---|
16 | 16 | | their successful accounting business for half a century; in her |
---|
17 | 17 | | free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and |
---|
18 | 18 | | great-grandchildren, cross-country skiing, and biking; she also |
---|
19 | 19 | | loved nature, and she visited Cat Spring and the Texas Hill Country |
---|
20 | 20 | | as often as possible; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Devoted to her faith, Mrs. Albin was a charter |
---|
22 | 22 | | member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a longtime volunteer with the |
---|
23 | 23 | | Lutheran Braille Workers center at Concordia Lutheran Church; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A true friend to many, a devoted companion to her |
---|
25 | 25 | | husband, and a cherished mother and grandmother, Dorothy Albin will |
---|
26 | 26 | | be deeply missed, but she will forever be remembered with love; now, |
---|
27 | 27 | | therefore, be it |

28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dorothy Marie Bertha |

30 | 30 | | Domaschk Albin and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her |

31 | 31 | | family: to her husband, Mirl J. Albin; to her sister, Puddin, and |
