H.R. No. 725 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort those who knew Dorothy Marie Bertha Domaschk Albin of Houston, who passed away on January 13, 2009, at the age of 84; and WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mrs. Albin was born in Houston on January 26, 1924; she earned a scholarship to business college, where she met the man with whom she would share her life, Mirl Albin; the couple were married in 1944, and their family grew to include four children, Carol, Jerrie, L. D., and the late M. J. Albin, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Albin worked side by side with her husband at their successful accounting business for half a century; in her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cross-country skiing, and biking; she also loved nature, and she visited Cat Spring and the Texas Hill Country as often as possible; and WHEREAS, Devoted to her faith, Mrs. Albin was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a longtime volunteer with the Lutheran Braille Workers center at Concordia Lutheran Church; and WHEREAS, A true friend to many, a devoted companion to her husband, and a cherished mother and grandmother, Dorothy Albin will be deeply missed, but she will forever be remembered with love; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dorothy Marie Bertha Domaschk Albin and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Mirl J. Albin; to her sister, Puddin, and her husband, Wesley Krueger; to her children and their spouses, Carol and Alan Walker, Jerrie and Gary Stobb, and L. D. and Betsy Albin; to her grandchildren and their spouses, Shari and Brian Conner, Kari and Frank Coffey, David and Ginny Stobb, Kristina and Zakk Vannoy, and Bryce and Jessica Stobb; to her great-grandchildren, Devin and Chad Coffey, Amelia and Miles Conner, Abby and Emma Vannoy, and Bowen and A. J. Stobb; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy Marie Bertha Domaschk Albin.
