55 WHEREAS, Members and alumni of Leadership Temple contribute
66 immeasurably to South Central Texas as civic leaders and
77 volunteers; and
88 WHEREAS, Established by the Temple Chamber of Commerce, this
99 exceptional program provides opportunities for participants to
1010 increase their knowledge of local issues and infrastructure and to
1111 visit with the leaders who are making decisions that affect their
1212 community; and
1313 WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
1414 diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking
1515 opportunities, and instruction from knowledgeable figures
1616 representing both the public and private sectors; topics covered
1717 include Temple's history, government, economy, social issues,
1818 needs, opportunities, and the existing processes for dealing with
1919 them; and
2020 WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and
2121 involved citizenry, Leadership Temple is helping to create a
2222 brighter and more promising future for the Lone Star State; now,
2323 therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby commend Leadership Temple for its promotion of
2626 civic engagement and volunteerism and extend to its participants
2727 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3030 House of Representatives.
