 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Members and alumni of Leadership Temple contribute
 immeasurably to South Central Texas as civic leaders and
 volunteers; and
 WHEREAS, Established by the Temple Chamber of Commerce, this
 exceptional program provides opportunities for participants to
 increase their knowledge of local issues and infrastructure and to
 visit with the leaders who are making decisions that affect their
 community; and
 WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
 diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking
 opportunities, and instruction from knowledgeable figures
 representing both the public and private sectors; topics covered
 include Temple's history, government, economy, social issues,
 needs, opportunities, and the existing processes for dealing with
 them; and
 WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and
 involved citizenry, Leadership Temple is helping to create a
 brighter and more promising future for the Lone Star State; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Leadership Temple for its promotion of
 civic engagement and volunteerism and extend to its participants
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
