 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Television producer Kathy Sapp is being recognized
 with the 2009 WIN Award at the Women Improving the Nation Award
 Luncheon in Houston on March 14, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Honey Brown Hope Foundation, the
 WIN Award Luncheon commemorates Women's History Month by
 celebrating the achievements and contributions of outstanding
 women; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Sapp has been a leader in television news and
 entertainment for 17 years; from 1992 to 1998, she worked for CBS
 News as a producer; selected by anchor Dan Rather to work with him
 on the CBS Evening News, she also worked with correspondents Ed
 Bradley on Street Stories and Bryant Gumbel on Public Eye with
 Bryant Gumbel; and
 WHEREAS, From 1999 to 2001, this gifted broadcast
 professional produced the Debra Duncan Show at ABC 13 in Houston,
 and for the past seven years, she has been an executive producer at
 20th Century Fox Television, where she produces television pilots
 and syndicated shows; she is responsible for the development and
 overall strategy of the nationally syndicated Houston-based court
 show Judge Alex, now in its fifth successful year; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Kathy Sapp has exemplified
 dynamism, vision, and hard work, and she is indeed deserving of this
 prestigious award; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Kathy Sapp on receiving the 2009
 WIN Award from the Honey Brown Hope Foundation and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Sapp as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
