| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lloyd Bolding has deservedly been named the 2008 |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Citizen of the Year by the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A native of Oklahoma, Mr. Bolding has lived in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Kilgore for nearly a half-century; this accomplished entrepreneur |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | holds a degree in petroleum engineering and has founded and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | operated several businesses, including CECO Equipment, Dyna-Test, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and Dyna-Coil, and for 10 years, he also served as an instructor at |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Kilgore College; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Bolding has long been a leader in East Texas, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | serving as president of the Kilgore Economic Development |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Corporation and the Meadowbrook Country Club; he cochaired the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | fund-raising committee for the Women's Center at Laird Memorial |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Hospital and sponsored the Small Fry Fishing Tournament for the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | American Cancer Society; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, This caring gentleman has further supported the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Kilgore Crisis Center, the Texas Shakespeare Festival, Habitat for |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Humanity, and the Boys and Girls Clubs; he has served on the East |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Texas Regional Airport Economic Development Board and on the boards |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of East Texas Baptist University, the Kilgore Independent School |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | District, the East Texas Treatment Center, and the Kilgore |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Historical Preservation Foundation; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, The vitality of a community depends in large measure |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | on the active engagement of its citizens, and Lloyd Bolding stands |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | at the forefront of those individuals who are making a positive |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | difference in their communities through their dedication and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | leadership; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Lloyd Bolding on his selection as |

| 33 | 33 | | the 2008 Citizen of the Year by the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce and |

| 34 | 34 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and |
