H.R. No. 786 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Lloyd Bolding has deservedly been named the 2008 Citizen of the Year by the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, A native of Oklahoma, Mr. Bolding has lived in Kilgore for nearly a half-century; this accomplished entrepreneur holds a degree in petroleum engineering and has founded and operated several businesses, including CECO Equipment, Dyna-Test, and Dyna-Coil, and for 10 years, he also served as an instructor at Kilgore College; and WHEREAS, Mr. Bolding has long been a leader in East Texas, serving as president of the Kilgore Economic Development Corporation and the Meadowbrook Country Club; he cochaired the fund-raising committee for the Women's Center at Laird Memorial Hospital and sponsored the Small Fry Fishing Tournament for the American Cancer Society; and WHEREAS, This caring gentleman has further supported the Kilgore Crisis Center, the Texas Shakespeare Festival, Habitat for Humanity, and the Boys and Girls Clubs; he has served on the East Texas Regional Airport Economic Development Board and on the boards of East Texas Baptist University, the Kilgore Independent School District, the East Texas Treatment Center, and the Kilgore Historical Preservation Foundation; and WHEREAS, The vitality of a community depends in large measure on the active engagement of its citizens, and Lloyd Bolding stands at the forefront of those individuals who are making a positive difference in their communities through their dedication and leadership; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Lloyd Bolding on his selection as the 2008 Citizen of the Year by the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Bolding as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
