| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The highest honor bestowed by the Girl Scouts, the |

| 9 | 9 | | Gold Award is given to young women who have demonstrated excellence |

| 10 | 10 | | in the areas of leadership, community service, career planning, and |

| 11 | 11 | | personal development, and the award's rigorous standards ensure |

| 12 | 12 | | that those who attain the commendation are among scouting's elite; |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In the course of meeting these criteria, Ms. |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Walter and Paula Williams, this |

| 19 | 19 | | notable young Texan attends St. Pius X High School, where she is |

| 20 | 20 | | copresident of the senior class, vice president of the National |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Honor Society, cocaptain of the varsity cheerleading squad, and a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | National Merit Scholar; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Williams has distinguished herself as a young |

| 24 | 24 | | woman of great character and ability, and her remarkable |

| 25 | 25 | | accomplishments as a Girl Scout point to a future bright with |

| 26 | 26 | | promise; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
