 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Sarah L. Williams of Spring has earned the Girl
 Scout Gold Award, and this notable achievement is truly worthy of
 special recognition; and
 WHEREAS, The highest honor bestowed by the Girl Scouts, the
 Gold Award is given to young women who have demonstrated excellence
 in the areas of leadership, community service, career planning, and
 personal development, and the award's rigorous standards ensure
 that those who attain the commendation are among scouting's elite;
 and
 WHEREAS, In the course of meeting these criteria, Ms.
 Williams completed a Gold Award project in which she designed and
 constructed learning materials for sight-impaired students, whom
 she also mentored; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of Walter and Paula Williams, this
 notable young Texan attends St. Pius X High School, where she is
 copresident of the senior class, vice president of the National
 Honor Society, cocaptain of the varsity cheerleading squad, and a
 National Merit Scholar; and
 WHEREAS, Sarah Williams has distinguished herself as a young
 woman of great character and ability, and her remarkable
 accomplishments as a Girl Scout point to a future bright with
 promise; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Sarah L. Williams on attaining the
 Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for
 continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
