5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Williamson County lost an admired |
---|
6 | 6 | | public servant and a cherished friend with the passing of Jane Ellen |
---|
7 | 7 | | Tableriou on January 6, 2009, at the age of 64; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Jane Tableriou was born in Chicago on January 3, |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1945; she went on to marry Nick Tableriou on June 10, 1967, and the |
---|
10 | 10 | | couple were blessed with two children, Nicole and Brett; in 1985, |
---|
11 | 11 | | Mrs. Tableriou and her family relocated to the Lone Star State; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, After settling in a new home in Georgetown, Mrs. |
---|
13 | 13 | | Tableriou soon began a distinguished tenure with Williamson County |
---|
14 | 14 | | that would span more than two decades; as the executive assistant to |
---|
15 | 15 | | the county judge, she first worked with the Honorable Don Wilson and |
---|
16 | 16 | | later with the Honorable John Doerfler; the anchor of the county |
---|
17 | 17 | | judge's office, Mrs. Tableriou earned the affectionate title, |
---|
18 | 18 | | "Judge Jane," and because she possessed an institutional knowledge |
---|
19 | 19 | | of Williamson County that few others could match, she was also |
---|
20 | 20 | | sometimes referred to as its highest-ranking nonelected official; |
---|
21 | 21 | | she built a strong partnership with Judge Doerfler, which lasted |
---|
22 | 22 | | from 1990 through 2006, when they both retired; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Committed to her colleagues, Mrs. Tableriou |
---|
24 | 24 | | remained a valuable asset to Williamson County after her |
---|
25 | 25 | | retirement; she helped plan the grand reopening celebration of the |
---|
26 | 26 | | county's historic courthouse, and she assisted employees of the |
---|
27 | 27 | | Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, educating them on county |
---|
28 | 28 | | business and organizing their office; when she was not serving |
---|
29 | 29 | | others, she enjoyed making scrapbooks, going on cruises, and |
---|
30 | 30 | | spending time in the company of her beloved family; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Jane Tableriou enhanced the lives of her fellow |
---|
32 | 32 | | citizens in myriad ways, and memories of her will long be treasured |
---|
33 | 33 | | by all those who were fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, |
---|
34 | 34 | | be it |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
---|
36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jane Ellen Tableriou |
---|
37 | 37 | | and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
---|
38 | 38 | | husband of 41 years, Nick Tableriou; to her children, Nicole and |
---|
39 | 39 | | Brett Tableriou; to her sister, Charlotte Buttin; to her niece, |
---|
40 | 40 | | Melissa Pinkerton; to her nephew, Rick Buttin; and to her other |
---|
41 | 41 | | relatives and many friends; and, be it further |

42 | 42 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
