44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Residents of Williamson County lost an admired
66 public servant and a cherished friend with the passing of Jane Ellen
77 Tableriou on January 6, 2009, at the age of 64; and
88 WHEREAS, Jane Tableriou was born in Chicago on January 3,
99 1945; she went on to marry Nick Tableriou on June 10, 1967, and the
1010 couple were blessed with two children, Nicole and Brett; in 1985,
1111 Mrs. Tableriou and her family relocated to the Lone Star State; and
1212 WHEREAS, After settling in a new home in Georgetown, Mrs.
1313 Tableriou soon began a distinguished tenure with Williamson County
1414 that would span more than two decades; as the executive assistant to
1515 the county judge, she first worked with the Honorable Don Wilson and
1616 later with the Honorable John Doerfler; the anchor of the county
1717 judge's office, Mrs. Tableriou earned the affectionate title,
1818 "Judge Jane," and because she possessed an institutional knowledge
1919 of Williamson County that few others could match, she was also
2020 sometimes referred to as its highest-ranking nonelected official;
2121 she built a strong partnership with Judge Doerfler, which lasted
2222 from 1990 through 2006, when they both retired; and
2323 WHEREAS, Committed to her colleagues, Mrs. Tableriou
2424 remained a valuable asset to Williamson County after her
2525 retirement; she helped plan the grand reopening celebration of the
2626 county's historic courthouse, and she assisted employees of the
2727 Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, educating them on county
2828 business and organizing their office; when she was not serving
2929 others, she enjoyed making scrapbooks, going on cruises, and
3030 spending time in the company of her beloved family; and
3131 WHEREAS, Jane Tableriou enhanced the lives of her fellow
3232 citizens in myriad ways, and memories of her will long be treasured
3333 by all those who were fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore,
3434 be it
3535 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3636 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jane Ellen Tableriou
3737 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
3838 husband of 41 years, Nick Tableriou; to her children, Nicole and
3939 Brett Tableriou; to her sister, Charlotte Buttin; to her niece,
4040 Melissa Pinkerton; to her nephew, Rick Buttin; and to her other
4141 relatives and many friends; and, be it further
4242 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4343 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4444 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jane Ellen
4545 Tableriou.
