R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Ellis and Pat Stewart of Big Sandy
celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 17, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart were united in matrimony in
1953; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage,
and today they delight in spending time with their son, Jim, their
daughter, Liz, and their grandson, Wesley, all of whom accompanied
them on a special anniversary trip to Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past 55 years, this devoted husband and wife have
remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ellis and Pat Stewart on their 55th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Stewart as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
