H.R. No. 971 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love and shared experiences, and Billy Jack and Jeannie Darden of Coahoma celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on May 31, 2008; and WHEREAS, Mr. Darden and the former Jeannie Bobo were joined in matrimony on that special day in 1958 in a ceremony held at Westside Baptist Church in Big Spring; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their son, Billy Joe Darden, their grandchildren, Brandi Rice and her husband, Shannon, Blake Darden and his wife, Hanna, and Bryan Darden, as well as their great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Tristen Rice; and WHEREAS, Former residents of Big Spring and Midland, the Dardens have led busy professional lives; Mr. Darden was the owner and operator of Fiberglass Specialists, while Mrs. Darden served as vice president of State National Bank of Big Spring, and today they remain active in their community as members of Wilshire Park Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Coahoma; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Darden have enjoyed half a century of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Billy Jack and Jeannie Darden on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Darden as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
