 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the creation of the Scenic Loop--Boerne Stage Road
 Driving Trail.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 442, Government Code, is
 amended by adding Section 442.024 to read as follows:
 Sec. 442.024.  SCENIC LOOP--BOERNE STAGE ROAD DRIVING TRAIL.
 (a)  The commission shall create a scenic driving trail that follows
 part of the Old Spanish Trail automobile highway in Bexar and
 Kendall Counties and consists of four legs. The first leg begins at
 State Highway 16 in Helotes and continues north on the Scenic Loop
 Road to the intersection of the Boerne Stage Road and the Toutant
 Beauregard Road. The second leg begins at the Boerne Stage Road in
 Leon Springs and continues west to the intersection of the Scenic
 Loop Road and the Toutant Beauregard Road. The third leg begins at
 the intersection of the Scenic Loop Road, the Boerne Stage Road, and
 the Toutant Beauregard Road and continues west on the Toutant
 Beauregard Road to the Kendall County line.  The fourth leg begins
 at the intersection of the Scenic Loop Road, the Boerne Stage Road,
 and the Toutant Beauregard Road and continues north on the Boerne
 Stage Road to the Kendall County line then continues on the Scenic
 Loop Road to Boerne in Kendall County.
 (b)  The scenic driving trail created by the commission shall
 be known as the Scenic Loop--Boerne Stage Road Driving Trail. The
 Texas Department of Transportation shall erect a marker identifying
 the Scenic Loop--Boerne Stage Road Driving Trail at appropriate
 intermediate sites and at each end of each of the four legs of the
 Scenic Loop--Boerne Stage Road Driving Trail.
 (c)  The commission shall promote the scenic driving trail in
 the materials and travel brochures promoting the Texas Heritage
 Trails Regions.
 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
