99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the compensation of a member of the board of directors
1111 of the Bexar-Medina-Atascosa Counties Water Control and
1212 Improvement District No. 1.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 9007, Special District
1515 Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 9007.055 to read as
1616 follows:
1717 Sec. 9007.055. COMPENSATION. Notwithstanding Section
1818 49.060(a), Water Code, a director is not entitled to receive a fee
1919 of more than $150 a month for performing the duties of a director.
2020 SECTION 2. Section 9007.055, Special District Local Laws
2121 Code, as added by this Act, applies only to the compensation of a
2222 member of the board of directors of the Bexar-Medina-Atascosa
2323 Counties Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 for
2424 performing the duties of a director on or after the effective date
2525 of this Act. Compensation for performing the duties of a director
2626 before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in
2727 effect when the duties were performed, and the former law is
2828 continued in effect for that purpose.
2929 SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
3030 introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
3131 Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
3232 copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
3333 officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished
3434 under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,
3535 Government Code.
3636 (b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has
3737 submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on
3838 Environmental Quality.
3939 (c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed
4040 its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the
4141 lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
4242 representatives within the required time.
4343 (d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this
4444 state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect
4545 to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled
4646 and accomplished.
4747 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
4848 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
4949 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
5050 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
5151 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
