7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 6, Tax Code, is amended by |
---|
9 | 9 | | adding Section 6.053 to read as follows: |
---|
10 | 10 | | Sec. 6.053. ASSISTANCE TO EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT |
---|
11 | 11 | | AUTHORITIES. The chief appraiser shall, if requested by the |
---|
12 | 12 | | emergency management authorities of a federal, state, or local |
---|
13 | 13 | | government agency, provide information and assistance pertinent to |
---|
14 | 14 | | disaster mitigation or recovery, including assisting in the |
---|
15 | 15 | | estimation of damage from an actual or potential disaster event. |
---|
16 | 16 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
17 | 17 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
18 | 18 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
19 | 19 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
20 | 20 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
