77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 6, Tax Code, is amended by
99 adding Section 6.053 to read as follows:
1010 Sec. 6.053. ASSISTANCE TO EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
1111 AUTHORITIES. The chief appraiser shall, if requested by the
1212 emergency management authorities of a federal, state, or local
1313 government agency, provide information and assistance pertinent to
1414 disaster mitigation or recovery, including assisting in the
1515 estimation of damage from an actual or potential disaster event.
1616 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1717 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1818 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1919 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2020 Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
