A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to making an appropriation to the Department of State
Health Services to be used in connection with the reporting of
health care-associated infections at certain health care
facilities and the creation of an advisory panel.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The amount of $1,500,000 is appropriated out of
the general revenue fund to the Department of State Health Services
for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2010, and the unexpended
balance of that amount plus an additional $2,800,000 out of the
general revenue fund is appropriated to the department for the
state fiscal year ending August 31, 2011, to implement Chapter 98,
Health and Safety Code, as added by Section 1, Chapter 359 (S.B. No.
288), Acts of the 80th Legislature, Regular Session, 2007.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
