| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Anne Cynthia Leon for her long and distinguished career |

| 4 | 4 | | with the United States Department of Housing and Urban |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Development; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Anne Cynthia Leon began her career with the United |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | States Department of Housing and Urban Development as an intern |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | in 1972; since then, she has served the department in a variety of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | posts, including director of Native American programs, director |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of public housing in the Denver regional office, director of the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | San Antonio field office, and her latest position, as regional |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | director for Region VI; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, As regional director for Region VI, Anne Cynthia |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Leon has been responsible for the delivery of department programs |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and services to more than 33 million Americans in Texas, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In 2007, Anne Cynthia Leon retired from the United |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | States Naval Reserve with the rank of captain; she is a veteran of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Anne Cynthia Leon has been |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | known for her superior skills and expertise; talented and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | resourceful, she has handled her many responsibilities with |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | exceptional efficiency and dedication; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Anne Cynthia Leon is |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | respected and admired by her colleagues, and her outstanding |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | tenure at the United States Department of Housing and Urban |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Development exemplifies the spirit and honor of public service; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby commend Anne Cynthia Leon on her exceptional |

| 31 | 31 | | service to our state and nation with the United States Department |

| 32 | 32 | | of Housing and Urban Development and extend to her best wishes |
