SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1053 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in recognizing Francisca Saucedo for her many years of loyal service with the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District; and WHEREAS, Francisca Saucedo first joined the district as an employee in 1976; she served as a Learning Center aide until 1982, when she returned to college to complete her studies; she graduated from The University of Texas--Pan American and joined the district as a sixth grade social studies teacher in August of 1983; she is now retiring after 26 years of teaching; and WHEREAS, Francisca devoted herself to her work and assisted with a wide array of student programs and activities over the years; she wrote sixth grade social studies curriculum, served as a University Interscholastic League coach for Modern Oratory, cosponsored student council, and sponsored a social studies club; and WHEREAS, Francisca's students greatly benefitted from her skillful teaching methods, her sincere concern for the individual, and her wise counsel and encouragement; and WHEREAS, A dedicated and resourceful educator, Francisca instilled in her students an appreciation for hard work and a love of challenge and learning; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby commend Francisca Saucedo on her successful career in the field of education and on her many contributions to the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District and extend best wishes to her for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
