44 SENATE RESOLUTION
55 BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
66 Legislature, Regular Session, 2009, That Senate Rule 12.03 be
77 suspended in part as provided by Senate Rule 12.08 to enable the
88 conference committee appointed to resolve the differences on
99 House Bill No. 1722 (proceedings that may be referred to and the
1010 powers of a criminal law magistrate in Bexar County) to consider
1111 and take action on the following matter:
1212 Senate Rule 12.03(1), is suspended to permit the committee
1313 to change text not in disagreement in SECTION 1 of the bill, in
1414 Subdivision (8), Subsection (a), Section 54.906, Government
1515 Code, to read as follows:
1616 (8) any other matter the judge considers necessary
1717 and proper, including a negotiated plea of guilty before the
1818 court.
1919 Explanation: This change is necessary to maintain the
2020 authority of a district judge in Bexar County to refer
2121 proceedings in criminal cases involving negotiated pleas of
2222 guilty to a criminal law magistrate.
