| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |

| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Dora Montana Rabago, who died January |

| 7 | 7 | | 28, 2009, at the age of 80; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Dora Montana was born in San Antonio on July 19, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1928, to Teofilo and Maria Montana; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, She served in the United States Army during the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Korean Conflict, and she retired from Brooke Army Medical Center |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Beach Pavilion after 20 years of civil service in the nursing |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | profession; over the course of her career as a nurse, she |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | received many employee awards; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, She was a longtime member of the Democratic Party |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and a committed volunteer for many political campaigns; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Rabago was a highly respected woman who |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | enriched the lives of many with her love and compassion and her |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | warmth and kindness; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | will long be remembered in the hearts and minds of those she left |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | behind; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | family of Dora Montana Rabago: her children, Verna Blackwell |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Hilario, Betty Segovia, Soledad Pulido, Luis Castillo, Robert |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Castillo, and Frank Castillo; her sisters, Lydia Lopez and Agnes |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Montana; her brother, Guadalupe Montana; her 11 grandchildren; |
