SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 165 In Memory of Dora Montana Rabago WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Dora Montana Rabago, who died January 28, 2009, at the age of 80; and WHEREAS, Dora Montana was born in San Antonio on July 19, 1928, to Teofilo and Maria Montana; and WHEREAS, She served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and she retired from Brooke Army Medical Center Beach Pavilion after 20 years of civil service in the nursing profession; over the course of her career as a nurse, she received many employee awards; and WHEREAS, She was a longtime member of the Democratic Party and a committed volunteer for many political campaigns; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Rabago was a highly respected woman who enriched the lives of many with her love and compassion and her warmth and kindness; and WHEREAS, She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she will long be remembered in the hearts and minds of those she left behind; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Dora Montana Rabago: her children, Verna Blackwell Hilario, Betty Segovia, Soledad Pulido, Luis Castillo, Robert Castillo, and Frank Castillo; her sisters, Lydia Lopez and Agnes Montana; her brother, Guadalupe Montana; her 11 grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dora Montana Rabago.
