                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 166
 In Memory
 of
 Felicita Acevedo
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Felicita Acevedo,
 who died January 29, 2009, at the age of 84; and
 WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen, Felicita Acevedo was
 respected in the community for her many accomplishments; she
 cherished her role as a homemaker and mother, and her talents as a
 painter, gardener, and crochet artist brightened the lives of
 those who knew her; and
 WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she
 gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and vitality
 will live on in the memories of those she left behind; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Acevedo was a devoted wife, mother, and
 grandmother, and she will long be remembered with affection and
 admiration by all those who were privileged to share in her life;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Felicita Acevedo: her sons and daughters-in-law,
 Ricardo Acevedo and his wife, Janet, Reinaldo Acevedo and his
 wife, Rose Marie, Alberto Acevedo, Jr., and his wife, Rosalinda,
 Pedro Acevedo, Sr., and his wife, Cynthia, and Joseph Acevedo,
 Sr., and his wife, Rose; her daughters and son-in-law, Rosalinda
 Cushman and her husband, Steve, and Blanca Estela Veda; her
 brother, Pedro Rodriguez; her sister, Connie Garcia; and her many
 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Felicita Acevedo.
