1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 173
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize February 10, 2009, as Texas Organization of
4	4	Residential Care Homes Day in Texas; and
5	5	WHEREAS, The Texas Organization of Residential Care Homes,
6	6	known as TORCH, is an advocate for the rights of all assisted
7	7	living and residential care residents so that they may be treated
8	8	with optimum dignity, receive routinely high-quality service,
9	9	and be afforded the maximum independence their condition will
10	10	allow; and
11	11	WHEREAS, TORCH also provides education to the assisted
12	12	living industry, the legislature, state agencies, and the public
13	13	so all may be aware of the importance of Texas seniors and their
14	14	rights; and
15	15	WHEREAS, TORCH will continue to lead the assisted living
16	16	community in Texas as it cares for and protects residents that
17	17	call their respective communities "home"; now, therefore, be it
18	18	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
19	19	Legislature, hereby designate February 10, 2009, as Texas
20	20	Organization of Residential Care Homes Day; and, be it further
21	21	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
22	22	honor of Texas Organization of Residential Care Homes Day.
