SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 173
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize February 10, 2009, as Texas Organization of
Residential Care Homes Day in Texas; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Organization of Residential Care Homes,
known as TORCH, is an advocate for the rights of all assisted
living and residential care residents so that they may be treated
with optimum dignity, receive routinely high-quality service,
and be afforded the maximum independence their condition will
allow; and
WHEREAS, TORCH also provides education to the assisted
living industry, the legislature, state agencies, and the public
so all may be aware of the importance of Texas seniors and their
rights; and
WHEREAS, TORCH will continue to lead the assisted living
community in Texas as it cares for and protects residents that
call their respective communities "home"; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby designate February 10, 2009, as Texas
Organization of Residential Care Homes Day; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of Texas Organization of Residential Care Homes Day.
