| 4 | 4 | | as Texas SkillsUSA Day at the State Capitol; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Texas SkillsUSA is a nonprofit youth organization |

| 6 | 6 | | dedicated to facilitating trade and industrial education and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | enhancing curricula so that young men and women are better able |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | to meet the demands of today's changing job market; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Texas SkillsUSA brings together educators, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | administrators, corporate leaders, labor organizations, trade |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | associations, and government entities in a coordinated effort to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | address the need for a globally competitive, skilled, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | educated workforce; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The program's proven system produces well-trained |

| 15 | 15 | | entry-level employees for a variety of job markets and teaches |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the importance of developing leadership skills, positive |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | attitudes, and pride in workmanship; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, With more than 1,000 chapters in Texas schools |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | serving more than 15,000 students, Texas SkillsUSA plays a vital |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | role in maintaining American productivity, quality, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | competitiveness; it is justly deserving of recognition for its |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | work across our state; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the men and women involved in Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | SkillsUSA on their outstanding efforts at creating a more |

| 26 | 26 | | productive workforce and extend to them a warm welcome to Austin |
