SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 188
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas recognizes JoAnn
Brown for her 50 years of membership in and service to Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, JoAnn has performed many years of dedicated
service to the State of Texas in various cities over the years
including Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Galveston, and Bryan; and
WHEREAS, Giving, talented, and resourceful, she has
unselfishly donated time, energy, and financial support to many
organizations for the encouragement, assistance, and guidance of
others; and
WHEREAS, She is a retired executive, wife, mother, and
grandmother with an undying commitment to whatever she
undertakes; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her 50 years of involvement in Alpha
Kappa Alpha, which began on the campus of Wiley College, JoAnn
has never failed in her love for the community and her sorority;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
Legislature, hereby commend JoAnn Brown on her exceptional
service to the Dallas community and to Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
