| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Tammi Mackeben, who has been named the American School |

| 4 | 4 | | Counselor Association's 2008 School Counselor of the Year; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A counselor at Ernesto Serna School in the Socorro |

| 6 | 6 | | Independent School District, Mrs. Mackeben was chosen for this |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | prestigious award based on her dedication to her work and the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | success of the Comprehensive Developmental Guidance and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Counseling program instituted at the school; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding program has received multiple |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | CREST Awards from the Texas School Counselor Association and the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | RAMP Award from the American School Counselor Association; it is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | designed to help every student at the school prepare for a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | successful life after school; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Mackeben has further served her profession |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | as middle school vice president of the Texas School Counselor |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Association, and she is part of a nationwide team working with |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the College Board to study and improve principal-counselor |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | relationships; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Devoted to helping students thrive during some of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the most critical years of their lives, Mrs. Mackeben is truly |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | deserving of recognition for her commitment and for her many |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Tammi Mackeben on her tireless |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | advocacy for children and extend congratulations to her on being |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | named the 2008 School Counselor of the Year by the American |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | School Counselor Association; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
