1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 258
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize Joshua Chance Parker on the auspicious occasion of his
4	4	graduation from college; and
5	5	WHEREAS, Joshua is a former member of the staff in the
6	6	office of the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Texas Senate; he completed
7	7	requirements for a bachelor of science degree at Abilene
8	8	Christian University and graduated on December 12, 2008; and
9	9	WHEREAS, He has a deep belief in his country and has chosen
10	10	to serve and defend it as a member of the United States Army; his
11	11	objective is to become an Army Ranger, and he begins basic
12	12	training at Fort Benning, Georgia, on February 24, 2009; and
13	13	WHEREAS, Joshua has a clear vision of his future; he has
14	14	demonstrated exceptional diligence and perseverance in pursuing
15	15	the goals he set for himself; his educational accomplishments and
16	16	his decision to serve his country bear witness to the strength of
17	17	his character; now, therefore, be it
18	18	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 81st
19	19	Legislature, hereby join the family and friends of Joshua Chance
20	20	Parker in congratulating him on his graduation from Abilene
21	21	Christian University and extend to him best wishes for success in
22	22	the military and in all his future endeavors; and, be it further
23	23	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
24	24	him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
